Industry grade lanolin alcohol is the unsaponifiable fraction of lanolin, composed of a complex mixture of aliphatic alcohols (normal, branched iso, branched anteiso, structured diols) with a molecular weight of approximately 370.  Industry grade lanolin alcohol is a brown waxy solid in appearance. It has the ability to absorb large quantities of water and works as a water in oil emulsifier or secondary emulsifier to provide emulsion stability. Industry grade lanolin alcohol finds use in waterproofing compounds, mould release agents, industrial hand cleansers, leather chemicals and industry greases.
